I am a neophyte to bonsai and have read newsletters from my club and books about winter care. I have been lead to believe that leaves that haven't fallen from decidous trees should be removed and that the trees should be sprayed with dormant spray. I have three quercus trees trained by other now in my care. Acording to Sunset they are deciduos and evergreen. Do I defoliate them, some of the leaves are drying and falling off? Thanks for the help!
