Thanks Mike, I've always wanted to create a really nice southern red maple bonsai. It is just so difficult to tame, the growth is so leggy that ramification would be difficult to acheive. The fall color varies but on many of them is stunning. I have a really large old specimen in my backyard that always turns deep red, except the last couple years it's been to warm for good color so the leaves just gradually turn and fall off. I was thinking about collecting seed from this so I'd be guarenteed good color.
