McSpeed is absolutely right... unless you all are just joking and teasing, and are friends, you may want to tone down, O Crowned One. You are talking to some of our most respected members and if you want advice you are going to stop getting answers from anyone.

If you want to airlayer your trees, wait for next year to give them the most chance to root before seperation. You aren't going to get much taper on a 1" trunk by starting a new leader, these trees grow so quickly that the difference in diameter will quickly disappear. But if you want a forest anyway, you aren't really looking for strongly tapered individual trees necessarily.
