Overwatering: How to Recover?
I have some small (<4" tall) Dwarf Hinoki Cypress which I suspect I've been overwatering. Their foliage is turning brown in patches and I'm starting to see green slime/gunk on surface of the soil (I'm using 60% grit 40% pine bark) close to the trunk.
Aside from checking the soil more closely and learning how to only water when appropriate, is there any way to assist these trees to recovery? I'm planning on giving them a mild dose of fungicide tomorrow to hopefully clear up that green goop.
It's possible that these little guys might just be goners already, but if anyone has any tips on how I might save them, I'd love to hear from you!
