Fukien's are a tough starter plant for bonsai. They are tempermental, succeptible to pests and intolerant of many insecticides. It seems they need to be babied a bit. Sounds like Red Spider to me as well. Photos would help and if you would, please update your personal info to reflect your location and climate.
