Kylezo, I'm no expert but you may have picked the wrong time of the year lift this plant. I have a large rosemary that has in the past dropped needles for whatever reason (mainly from overwintering it in an attached garage) and it still survived. Once it decided that it was finished I would trim off some of the dead branches and whether by luck or my intuitive skill (most probably the former) the plant would begin a new flush of growth. Anyway, this post is not much help but you have a nice plant to work with and I hope it does ok for you. Give it some time, protect it from too much sun for a bit and see what happens. Bob.
