Wessel, I actually like this idea of yours. Any unconventional trees or styles would fit with such a crazy design of your slabs. I have a group of palm trees that I am trying to do a tropical island bonsai landscape with. I would love a big dark-brown slab (in the center to represent an island) with a rim of white (to look like sandy beach) and then blue (for the ocean water). Here is a picture of my palm trees. They are actually very old, and look very much like tiny coconut trees when trimmed up. The fruits are bright red too. The trees would have to be separated and spread out over the slab of course. What do you guys think?
