Rockm, how did you come to know this fellow who helped you out? Did he live nearby?
Ive seen alot of your posts and have come to respect your knowledge. I would be glad to come help you with your bald cypress but by mapquest your still 5-6 hours away from me - and your one of the closer bonsaitalk members I have noticed!
I read - ALOT.... I have books, I live on the internet, etc but theres no substitute for experience - someone who has been there done that. For that matter, alot of the "principles" vary out there depending on who you typed the web page or book.
Even so - people live very busy lives, outside of my family, work and house chores/improvements - theres little time for second jobs etc.
So as I continue to grow trunks, chop them, and style some of the older stock I have, its always a little bit leap of faith that i have read and understood certain principles. If I didnt get them right, its just back to the drawing board and a little deeper into my wallet.
