Question To chop or not to chop.

I've had this approx. 8 year old Baeckea Virgata dwarf kicking around for a while and lately have had an urge to re-invent it. The photos don't do it any favours but I want to chop the trunk at the point where the first branch originates. There is (to my eyes at least) beautiful movement in this branch and I think it would be further enhanced by the removal of the top portion of the tree.
I have a beautiful japanese pot to hand, unglazed, hexagonal, very feminine, that calls for something like the above and I think they would make a luverly couple.

Can anyone else see my vision or am I just bored
A before and a virtual.
