Peter i have various black pines up here, chinese privett (they love it), cork bark elm, trident maples, african olives , shimpaku and squmata junipers, a large imported microcarpa fig ummm.... what else? swamp cypress and celtis which go nuts here , another cypress not sure on name and cedar deodar. Bougs- yep they grow wild and crazy here. I dug up one with a 50cm trunk few months ago. Got along way to go but budding nicely. summers HOT here average 35+ and 90% humidity.

Great stuff! I guess i thought that because it was sooo hot for soooo long up there the trees wouldnt like it! Wrong again hey! I am originally from Mackay, so i know what the summers can be like up that way! I havnt lived up there for 22 years and all i could grow up there (with my limited expierience back then) was Figs and i had 1 ch elm. When you dig your bougs up, do you bother with roots or do you just treat them as large cuttings?
