First things first. I had to get the rootball to a managable size.Since the tree was planted in a relatively deep container,I had never had to worry about special soil to provide drainage.I had used regular peat and bark based commercial potting soil.It's cheap and effective for this purpose.As you may have noticed in the previous post;my tool of choice when dealing with large conatiner grown rootballs is a reciprocating saw.It's quick and easy.BUT!!You do have to go back and clean up the rough cuts on larger roots.
I trimmed the sides first and then the bottom.
