It also looks like alder to me. If that's the flower in the right-hand pic, it's too blurry to make a positive ID. Can you get a close-up of the flower that is more in focus? The winter hazel I've seen have more strap-like petals and yours are more rounded lobe-shaped. Again, I can't really tell as the pic is out of focus.
