soltan where are you in Aus? i'm up at rockhampton Qld where the heat zone is 8/9. I have a few trident maples and had to use 50% shade cloth to protect from leaf burn. It seemed to work ok even at a few days at 43 degess celsius . I havent tried hornbeans but would be interested in trying if i could find one? as for japanese maples, a mate of mine has one up here and even the shade cloth i'sent enough protection.
