Development of an Umbrella tree (Scheff)
This is a tree I aqiured about a year and a half ago from of all places...ebay. I liked the pot it was in , but wanted to thicken it up and grow it out more so i repotted it into a larger mica pot. I then wired the 2 outer branches down and straight out to give the tree the appearence of width.
Just yesterday, a month after the wiring, i gave it a hard pruning by removing about half of it's leaves. This way I can compact the new growth and develop some closer branching.
The last picture is what i hope in several years my scheff will look like. It is one of the ebay sellers tree.
