Hi everyone, I like this tree Dave. I kinda like Mindcrime's sketch for it too. Like some people have said, it is too heavy on top for a successful bunjin. I think it would be very difficult to do this Hinoki as a bunjin mainly because the branch structure , (unless you want to go wild and put a lot of curves on those branches and reduce the foliage by a lot). I think it could be a pretty good informal upright with a double apex though. I would bring the first branch up to a small apex to fill in the void in the middle of the tree. Here's a sketch of how I see it. Good luck with it!

ps. I think you have enough branches for the top apex already. So I would wire the top branches down (and to the front) to finish the apex, and in the process, reduce the height of the tree by a few inches too.
