Ancient, I've been chewing on that one since last year. The shari does create a small amount of reverse taper just below the bend. I will either do as you suggest, extending the existing shari up into the bend, or I might create a smaller shari on the outside of the bend where some jins already exist, carving down that little bulge,and extend this new element up into the upper trunk. Havn't decided which way to go yet. Thanks,
