Again, thanks for all the comments. My goal with this Bunjin is to further reduce and refine the foliage, but I can only go so fast, and I feel like I'm pushing the envelope already, so to speak. This tree was a fully foliaged 4 foot tall shrub less then 12 months ago. The foliage completely obscured the trunk, and it looked so nice, I nearly planted it in my yard as a specimen. In the initial styling last spring, I removed over 90% of the foliage, and I removed another 50% yesterday. I'm reluctant to remove more right now. We'll see how it grows this year, and I'll study the branching with future reductions in mind.
