Some sort of ficus

Has anyone ever heard of a Burt Davies ficus? I picked up one of these at a show here 2 summers ago and it’s doing great but from time to time it will produce these round green balls on the end of the branches about the size of black peppers (the kind you use in a pepper mill). Anyway, I can’t find info on the tree and don’t know if they are supposed to be fruit that turns to flowers or just a funny looking growth. Any thoughts?

Cheers
