As far as advertising goes, this is a non-issue: if this forum doesn't allow members of other forums to announce upcoming events on other forums, that should be stated, and the thread should be deleted. Rules are rules, and Matt is the one who decides that.

If, on the other hand, it is allowed, then members should be encouraged to spread the information (and I remember reading here in the past that BonsaiTalk encourages information sharing between all members).

If the latter case is the right one, then Paul was just following the rules.

At the AoB forum, we encourage members of all forums to come and post ALL events that may be of interest to those who love bonsai. I think that's the right thing to do. But it is not for me to decide what is permitted or not on this forum. Matt is doing a good job in this are.

Again, if this was in the wrong section, it should be moved.
