Whoa! I haven’t seen this thread for just a few days and I am in awe as to how great some of these forsythias look. I have quite a few growing around my house. There is one that isn’t very bushy and has some nice deadwood on it that literally has a hole through one side to the other. This was caused by a branch being cut off. Since the tree is hollow in the middle, it just rotted so easily. I’ve always found the hollow branches to be a very in interesting trait. As a landscaped tree, I hate them because they grow so fast one of the ones at my house grew 5 feet last year. Another thing is that they are almost like banyan once a branch reaches the ground it will root and the bush gets gigantic. As a bonsai, I think they are great though because fast growing is good and they bend very easily, you can cut these down to the ground, and they still survive.

Great growing
