Clump style Japanese Maple- Pot ideas?

This is a picture from last april of a multi-trunk Japanese Maple that picked from Johnny Uchida a couple of years ago. When I got the tree it was in a grow box, Johnny did quite a few of these in the early to mid 80's, I got two of these and the tag indicated it was a cutting from 1987.

I repotted in to a "training" pot, an inexpensive Korean pot I got from Benny Kim a number of years ago (atually got a dozen or so). I have worked to rduce the number of branches and to shorten them. This year we will defoliae for the first time. My question is: What kind of pot? This one is probably too deep, suggestions? Virts?

John

Edit: It is about 30" tall. John
