If you can get permission to cut fire wood collecting trees should be no problem. Be warned though, I understand that the Pine Barrens are a dangerous place and it is easy to get lost in them, so much so there are legends about the place. Make sure you get yourself a GPS device. From what I know once you get out of sight of the road every direction looks just like every other direction.
