Hi 007,
I have had good luck rooting them this time of year here in South Carolina.
You can cut them into 6" sections with an angle cut on the bottom. I use rootone and place them in pure perlite.
The pot is put where there is only indirect light and water them when I water my bonsai.
About 80% root the first year.
