I think you have a very nice starter (at least IMO) here, with a very good trunkline.
I personally don't like the style, with the tunnel like root and the bushy folliage on top. For that reason I isolated its trunkline, to give an example of how I see it.
I would style it in a moyogi style, or moyogi broom style.
