I just use astro-turf. LOL Just Kidding of course.
I just take patches of moss form the yard, roof where ever, and break them into smaller peices and then put over the soil in the pot,...sometimes I even use fines to fill in the spaces between the moss to bring it up to "grade" with the top of the surface. But they will eventually seep down into your soil, so don't use too much and be sure to do this only before a show, or taking pics,...and don't keep adding fines when those seep down.
