Possible bonsaiTALK Outage on Jan 30 & 31
Dear bonsaiTALKERs
This is just a note to inform you that we had a note indicating we'd hit 80% of our bandwidth ceiling on the 25th of this month. There is a 50-50 chance we'll be down briefly on the sometime in the afternoon on Tuesday Jan 30th. Bandwidth usage is currently 97,757.02 out of a potential 100,000 megabytes per month, and we consume about 3,250 megabytes per day.
If we hit the limit, you'll get a temporary "Bandwidth Exceeded" message. When and if this happens, I'll make a decision about bumping our bandwidth limit. This is no reflection on our donation situation which has been good for Dec-Jan.
The fact that this is happening during a period that is typically rather quiet in the Northern Hemisphere's Winter suggests that we may need to increase our allocation for the coming spring.
THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE NUMBER OF POSTS ON THE FORUM OR TREES IN THE GALLERY. It has more to do with the number of times they're viewed and the pages that load.
In any case, everything will be normal by Feb 1, 2007. In the meantime I'll request an increase and we'll hope that kicks in before we hit the stops.
Thanks,
Matt
