I do not use soil conditioner 50/50. That's way too heavy for bonsai. Sixty forty or 70/30 combined haydite, crushed granite, swimming pool filter sand/pine bark are typical for my use.

Sorry, should have been more clear. This isn't the same mix I use in my pots. I'll stay away from the soil mix debate. I use turface, well gravel, lava etc... in varying ratios depending on how much moisture retention I need. |
