Here's a little planting I made the pot for; it was inspired by a rotted log that was planted with ferns along the path to the Pacific Rim Bonsai Collection. The stoneware "log" for this planting is about 8" long and has 3 drainholes along the bottom. The tree is a dwarf white spruce, Picea glauca, I found growing in a crack in limestone in Montana.
Guess I should mention I saw the planting back in 1996 and made the pot the winter of '99/2000. Collected the spruce spring of 2000.
