Bonsai Pots Style Restricted?
In perusing bonsai pots, I see basically four shapes: round, oval, rectangular, and tulip.
Is there some unwritten rule restricting the "proper" shape of bonsai displays to these pot shapes?  What if I wanted to do something entirely different, establishing a realistic (or fantastic) landscape?  Would the bonsai be immediately dismissed for not being shown in the "correct" type pot? How variant can I go without incurring the displeasure of the bonsai judges?
