The second one above nearly jumped out of the ground on its own. The first one, however, turned out to be MUCH bigger than I thought. It took me five hours to dig that puppy out. I recovered a rootball that was three feet wide, and two feet deep. After cutting two wrist-thick tap roots, my son and I managed to roll the rootball into the truck, and got it out to the nursery an hour later. We set it up, covered it and watered it in, and crawled home to collapse.

Here it is as we started cleaning it up and thinning it out today....First pic with Cindy starting to prune. Second has Chris standing on the base of the trunk.
