Graydon my friend....you asked for organics...they stink at first, and then mellow like a fine wine. I personally believe it will be next to impossible to find a true organic fertilizer that doesn't smell of odea toliette. Biogold, as it was told to me by a semi reputable source, sprayed there cakes with a clear gelling agent for two reasons. The first being that it masked the smell of the "organic". The second being that it held the cake in its pretty little shape. Both are excellent marketing strategies. It worked. they dominated the market for packaged bonsai fertilizers. Biogold arguably was a top rate fertilizer. However, one would have to conclude that if it didn't breakdown fairly rapidly it did not reach its maximum potential, at least not till the end of its useful life. The idea, at least as I see it, is an even feed over the entire time of application. So...whether you buy Green Dream, Rape seed cakes, cotton seed meal or Karen's Mean Green. The bottom line is some thing that will disolve quickly leaching nutrients into the soil and give you a postive response. Besides how bad could throwing up in your mouth be

Don't flay yourself mentally when you make a mistake or when something bad happens. Just pick yourself up from the god-awful mess you’ve made, say to yourself "I must make a note not to do that again." and go on to the next step, of the hundred or so that remain.
