Not saying mine is the only explanation, just that I doubt the assumption being made.

I'm saying there are alot more plausible explanations that the assumption that's being made. This "completely different cultivar" conclusion is reached by alot of people when their trees act naturally, but strangely. It's the easiest assumption to make when a tree produces irregular foliage or doesn't color up well, or differently in the fall, or whatever.

If you think it is a separate cultivar, explain why.
