Bad moss
I've got a few trees that have the kind of moss I think I don't want. I call it "strangler" moss because it attaches itself to the nebari and starts working its way up the trunk. I've been told it's a killer, destroys the cambium and sucks the energy from trees.
Anybody know about this? Any way to get rid of it without severely damaging the tree? I thought about a soft toothbrush, rubbung it off. I tried on an azalea and the bark came off with it. If I did that all the way around there would be a naked band around the trunk.
Are there any chemical cures that won't hurt the tree?
