I doubt that that's true unless you live in the desert. Using a heating system in the winter will bring the humidity way down in the house, 10-20 % humidity is about the norm. You can try to grow a juniper in a warm stuffy house but 99 out of a 100 won't make it. Read through the archives of this site and you'll find many stories about dry, crispy junipers that have been grown inside.
