well i just started jinning and i use toolbox pliers needlenose pliers, a knife, and a lighter but i only have jins on medium size trees nothing real big but once I do get larger (which i am progressivly doing) trees and my collection gets larger i might get a pair. Maybe not I don’t really know. With the lighter it defiantly isn’t as effective as a blowtorch but I used it for small jins. One problem I had was that the wood didn’t really change color unless I used the tip of the flame. Another thing is that I kept ending up with the jin tips turing into candles and some of the needles strangely enough the whole needle didnt die just maybe a half of it.
