Huh? Eugenia Dropping Leaves

About 2 weeks ago, I purchased a Eugenia Myrtifolia (Brush Cherry). I did some modest root pruning when I potted it, but it has been dropping leaves. I looked online in a couple different places and I couldn't really find anything. I am keeping the soil adequately watered, and the tree is getting good sunlight in my living room (I am in massachusetts, so it is already cold outside). My living room has 3 large bay windows that flood the house with ample light.

Could the root pruning be why it is dropping leaves? Is this normal? The tree isn't bald, but I don't like seeing leaves on my carpet. Help!

Here is a picture too.
