Hey Jay - we missed you at the meeting - sure hope you can make it to one. We did a club workshop today at a nursery in Lakeland.

Nice citrus tree - and my choice of growing container as well! I think you have the making of a real sweet little tree. I had a discussion with another club member today about reducing overly large leaves. He had some great points on letting them go until a few weeks before showing the tree and then defoliating so you get a push of newer, smaller leaves. He also brought up that when you defoliate, especially for ramification, you should wind up with twice as many smaller leaves. That would give you same surface area to take in sun.

Perhaps George will chime in on this thread, he's the leaf guy. Most of my trees are leaf envious trees (needles).

Zen, I will try to take a shot tomorrow and post. Not really much to see right now as it was hacked back hard and defoliated. Basically a trunk and a few branches.

I have added a couple shots I found on some gardening web sites from a Google search. Just to be clear and not get popped for willheathism (or plagiarism) these are not my trees and not my photos. I am hoping no harm is done as I am just trying to illustrate what the tree looks like.
