Mr. Matt,
I am indeed happy to see the final entry date has been changed to August 31, instead of the 15th...I am currently trying to achieve an 'air-layer' on my tree to get a companion plant of the same species...
I do have a couple questions for anyone with 'experience' in layering a "
Pipeus Cleanerisis 'chenille'"...
I have used the 'ring bark' cut with hormone and "dry sphagnum" [concerned about rust which the species is prone to], and wrapped with aluminum foil...I am in USDA zone 8b, and would like to know when I can safely separate the layer?...I do so hope it will be in time for the contest submission deadline...
Does anyone with experience think the use of a tourniquet would also be of value in speeding the process?...
I am thankful for the additional week and a half, but still quite apprehensive about the time factor...Any help from experienced 'fauxsai' artists would be much appreciated...Thanks in advance...
Regards
Behr
