Thanks everyone. Rockm, the TX persimmon is quite endemic in South Texas. You'll find them in the brush and we usually collect them near fences in ranches when we get permission from the owner. The weeping style is common for this species.
Andy, all of the workshops were for natives or tropicals (Texas ebony, Brazilian RT, kidneywood, fiddlewood, wrightia). The exhibit had quite a few ficus, buttonwoods, BRTs, natal plums and such. A few deciduous and only a couple of conifers.
Grampz, looking forward to LSBF 2008 in S.A. Thanks for the compliments for my boxwood. I acquired this tree nearly in this shape and have done some minor styling and repotted it since I got it a couple of years ago. The stand, pot, accent plan and tree combo were quite esthetic at the end!
