I build my stands with biscuits. No, not the ones in the morning slopped with gravy. These are beechwood biscuits that swell up with the glue and make really strong joints. I have people ask me, "why do you use biscuits on such a small stand". Well.. I like um strong. A long time ago I made some of my first stands. I did not have a biscuit cutter and so did not use them. I had some plants in a three day show. The plants got watered, and the water ran out of the pot and onto the stand. The corners swelled up and popped the joints. Pretty embarassing. Ever since then I use biscuits on all my joinery.
