Hello,
I have a Ficus in a certain mix, I believe the nursery made. I went back to the nursery to buy a bag of the soil, to place on to top of the pot- some of the soil was falling out from watering, rain, etc. So I packed it in- it's specially made bonsai soil.
I also have a Chinese Elm in a much blacker, darker, finer soil- which seems to have a lot of sand. I am planning to repot both plants early in the spring, next year. I was also in need for more top-soil for the Elm, so I placed some of the other bonsai soil, which is much... 'Thicker'(?) on the top of the Elm pot. The Chinese Elm lost a lot of top soil, as well.
Anyway, my question is, will this soil be okay to repot both trees in, next year? Here is an attached photo of the soil. I am positive that this is fairly good soil, because the nursery's bonsai are all in it. I'm just uncertain if it would be okay to transplant the Elm from it's much finer, dark soil, into this. Thanks for any replies!
