The only one that I know of that has successfully air layered one is the late Jim Moody.

But even he advised against trying. Too little a success rate.

I have about 6 of the ones that he was successful in doing. Beautiful trees.

I do think that if he had the devil getting them to air layer it is of no use for me to try it. He was the expert in them.

Cuttings are a different story. Not all that hard to do. Just takes forever to grow a trunk from them. Only time will thicken up that spindly trunk.And it does take a lot of that time ;o(
