Where can I get software for making virtuals?

Just a reminder that anyone can download one of the best drawing/virtualizing/photo processing programs out there, for free.

The Gimp (The GNU Image Processing Program) is a free graphics program preferred by many artists to Photoshop itself. It's also what I use to do all my virtuals.

Originally written for the Linux platform, the Gimp now runs on Windows as well, and works beautifully. Here's a place to
get the Windows version. Alternatively, to get a pre-built install package take a look at the GimpWin Installer Page. Read the directions carefully, and it should be relatively straightforward from there.

A fantastic book on using the Gimp is now available for free on the web: Grokking the Gimp.

Doing virtuals isn't all that hard once you get going with this software.

All the best,
Old Mister
