Hi Adam, if you do a search here on ferts you will find that everyone has their own methods and beliefs, (and there are many). I would think the Shultz would be fine if used according to instructions. As for mixing it up with organics, I have read here of many well experienced folks who do and many who do not. What it boils down to is what works best for you. I personally use Dyna Grow 7-9-5 and change it up with Bio-Gold pellets and a combo of fish/seaweed emulsion. It works for me and I am happy with the results I get, but that does not mean it is the best regime to use. Try some different things and see what works best to produce growth on your trees would be my suggestion. Good luck and do that search you will find a lot of varied info that may help you decide.
