Ficus microcarpa

This tree seems to be recovering nicely after an initial reduction from nursery stock last year...I decided to go with a twin-trunk design, even though I am not entirely happy with the angle of the trunk division.

Currently the dominant trunk is 17 inches in height and the width of both trunks at the soil level is 5 inches.

Jerry Meislik, in his book, "Ficus: The Exotic Bonsai" speaks of the resiliency of microcarpa as compared to other cultivars, particularly benjamina. This is my first experience with this cultivar and I am quite happy so far....back budding has been very prolific (for me, anyway, as I am located in Zone 5).

Regards,
Tom S.
