I got home Weds night and the sparrows, blackbirds or whatever had all but dug my J White Pine out of its rather shallow pot. (Why is it always my best tree?:-(

So much so that the roots were exposed and damaged a bit. Good thing it's well tied in and healthy.

I've slipped it into a larger pot and covered it with drainage mesh again.

I suspect its the young uns looking for an easy meal this time of year or having a dust bath perhaps.

They also been digging in a big bag of sphagnum moss I keep beside the deck.

They also sit on one tree eating the cotoneaster berries off another later in the year which necessitates quite regular pot cleaning as you can imagine.
