I have grown "Seiryu" from seed I collected from trees that were definitely that variety. I didn't get as much germination as from other A. palmatum seeds I planted at the same time. There was some seedling variation but all had deeply dissected leaves. I'm glad I didn't know that bit of information, i.e., that dissectum set sterile seeds, or I would not have tried...
