Rolls....

Rolls are handy but they do have draw backs.... I keep my carving gouges in a roll that I made from extra heavy denim. I lined the inside of the roll with leather because sharp things poke through the material and I never found a commercially made roll that wouldn't get a hole poked through it by a sharp gouge. And the roll is rolled up in the bottom storage area of my tool box.

Some of our bonsai tools are pretty sharp too. Also, many of the bonsai supplies I keep in the tool box would not go in a roll anyhow. In the end, it is what ever works best for your situation.
