Before they cut it back, it was a little sharp to the touch but you not nearly as sharp as it is now. I am pretty sure this is the juvenile growth as well, the needles are like this: <<<<< and are VERY sharp to the touch, and you can easily break them off (I refrain from that
).
I figured it would be sort of the 'undergrowth' coming back in full after they cut it back, but just wanted to make sure
