pyrethrin works a treat for me, i even add a little wetting agent/detergent to help it stick to the little mongrels. i recently wiped out a nasty infestation of lace bug on the azaleas and aphids on the camellia.
the smoke is still clearing, hehehehe hahahaha
im not sure about pouring it onto the soil but it shouldn't have any adverse effects but then i am no scientist. i know there are other treatments for application onto the soil, just haven't needed to use them and therefore don't know them
